Pittsburgh Winter Wedding

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful wedding this was! Abbey and Phil really had to go with the flow and face the disappointment of changing plans with love in the time of Covid!

But, we can say without question their day was perfect, beautiful, full of love and graced by the most perfectly magical snowfall!!! At the last minute their celebration had to be downsized again, and then they decided to do it outdoors at the grooms’ parents house in their backyard. It was so intimate, dreamy and full of the love of these two who were FINALLY getting married! Abbey and Phil, your day was so amazingly genuine and the love we felt between you two and your family, was so real, so warm and so beautiful to witness!

The tears, the laughter- all the feelings in this beautiful ceremony, just truly moved us. It was so beautiful to witness the depth of love between Abbey & Phil and to see how cherished they are- how much their families love them. Family helping to get everything ready and melt the snow in the yard to make a clear walkway for them, just so much care went into everything about this intimate backyard wedding.

It was a very wintry day, the beautiful snowfall softened the cold. But lets be real- it’s Pittsburgh so it was still pretty dang cold! We decided to go inside, warm up a bit and get some cozy portraits of the just-married couple! They seriously could not stop smiling at each other!

As we got ready to go back outside so they could sit to eat and chat with their families, we were met with a big surprise that we heard before we saw. Phil’s dad had started to set off fireworks in their backyard, like any proud and happy Dad would! We loved getting their sweet reactions to this totally unexpected surprise!

Abbey & Phil’s intimate, small backyard wedding was the perfect reminder that your love is what is most important, and what makes your wedding shine- not having the perfect venue or even having things go according to plan. The way they handled the changes in their plans, makes us super excited for them as they do life together- because there’s a lot we don’t know and cannot count on and the hard will come.

But when you choose to face it all together, and laugh with the one you love- it’s a pretty amazing thing. Turns out, that maybe after all- love is all you need.
