Katie & Mick

Oh, this beautiful day for these two beautiful souls! So incredible! Just an hour or so before these beautiful portraits under the willow tree it was a full on torrential downpour with the most ominous looking skies! Thankfully most everyone was inside the chapel waiting for the lovely bride to walk down the aisle! And after they were pronounced husband and wife, the sky cleared, the sun came out and gave us the most perfect light to capture Katie and Mick, so in love!

Katie and Mick are some of the most genuinely kind people ever! It was evident in their close friendships with those in the bridal party, in their interactions with their family and most especially in their regard for each other.

We love how everything about their ceremony and reception was truly a reflection of them as a couple! They got married at the Homewood Cemetery Chapel, an unconventionally beautiful place, that gave us the most wonderful woodsy walk for our portraits of them. Their reception was at the Union Project, another gorgeous space in Pittsburgh, which was the perfectly beautiful and also laid back kind of atmosphere that reflected the easy-going, amiable bride and groom! They planted wildflower seeds into a pot together in their ceremony and then gave their guests a parting gift of a satchel of these little seeds- such a beautiful image of their commitment to each other, just as the Audrey Assad song that was their first dance says, "love planted deeply becomes what it ought to be," their love was so incredibly gorgeous and moving to witness on this amazing day!

There is nothing quite as awe inspiring as seeing the way a groom looks at his bride, when she is walking toward him! And this groom, wow, he just loves her! The delight and awe in his face were just so humbling to see!

Katie and Mick, we could not be happier for you and know you will have a beautiful marriage that will flourish and give you both comfort, shelter, strength and most of all deep abiding love for each other and the Lord! Your love is so beautiful and we love the way your love for each other reaches and enriches the lives of all those who surrounded you on this incredible day! We are so delighted we got to be part of it!
